Taskis ("we", "our", or "us") is a personal finance application developed and operated from Tanzania. Our app is available on Android via Google Play. You can contact us at hello@taskis.site.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information when you use Taskis:
Account Information
- Your name and email address (used to create and identify your account)
- A hashed (encrypted) password — we never store your password in plain text
- Phone number (optional, for account recovery)
Financial Data
- Transactions you log: amount, category, date, and description
- Monthly budget limits you set
- Savings goal targets you configure
- Invoice data you create (client name, amounts, due dates)
- Business profile information (if you choose to set it up)
App Preferences
- Language preference (English or Swahili)
- Currency setting
- Dark mode preference
Device & Technical Data
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token — used to deliver push notifications to your device
- Your IP address (standard web server logs, retained for a maximum of 30 days)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely to provide and improve the Taskis service:
- To display your financial dashboard, transactions, budget, and savings progress
- To generate your AI-powered daily financial reports and send them as push notifications
- To allow you to create and manage invoices
- To authenticate you securely and protect your account
- To remember your language, currency, and theme preferences across devices
- To send important service-related notifications (e.g., account security alerts)
4. AI-Powered Reports
Taskis sends your anonymised financial summary (totals and patterns — not individual transaction details) to Groq, an AI inference provider, to generate your daily report. This data is transmitted securely over HTTPS and is used only to generate your report — it is not stored by Groq for training purposes.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers hosted in a professionally managed data centre. We implement the following security measures:
- All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS)
- Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms before storage
- Session tokens are used to authenticate requests — your password is never retransmitted
- Database access is restricted and not publicly accessible
6. Third-Party Services
We use a limited number of trusted third-party services to operate Taskis:
- Firebase (Google) — for push notification delivery (FCM). Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Groq — for AI-generated daily reports. Only anonymised summary data is sent.
- Google Play — for app distribution on Android devices.
We do not use advertising networks, analytics trackers, or sell your data to any third party.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your personal data and financial records are permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days. You can request account deletion at any time by contacting us at hello@taskis.site.
8. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: You can view all your data directly within the Taskis app at any time
- Correction: You can update your account information and financial data in-app
- Deletion: You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data
- Portability: You can request a copy of your data by contacting us

9. Children's Privacy
Taskis is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.
10. Terms of Use
By downloading and using Taskis, you agree to:
- Use the app only for lawful personal finance management purposes
- Provide accurate information when creating your account
- Keep your account credentials confidential and not share them with others
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or misuse the app or its API
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. The app is provided "as is" without warranty. We are not liable for financial decisions made based on information displayed in the app.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via a push notification or in-app message. Your continued use of Taskis after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
